On the sand, it was found that are decomposed by temperature effect into an inorganic specie assumed to be molecular iodine. might due surface effects grains as usually stable this temperature. IOx expected well retained (DF > 100) long height is high enough (>60 cm). also irradiation. humidity have significant influence their decomposition. filter, despite both species significantly decomposed, very few gaseous release from observed. produced quickly adsorbed steel wires even if slow desorption expected.
